This section contains an overview of the concepts and strategies to fight social exclusion. The overview describes different concepts of social exclusion and their backgrounds, discussing its features and manifestations in different contexts. It emphasizes that there is no single strategy and type of action universally accepted for combating exclusion. It shows, on the contrary, the diversity of models used and highlights certain principles that give the best results in various programs and projects: integration, partnership, participation and territoriality.
